Scenes that interested Team Whooz enough to try grabbing shots from the hurtling MayhemMobile. The occasion was the drive from Williams, Arizona to Farmington, New Mexico, on D+5 of South By Southwest Chief. It was the first segment of the stealth sweep across northern AZ and NM to reach Trinidad, Colorado, for the main objective of riding Amtrak Southwest Chiefs over Raton Pass in both directions on a single day. The photos are mostly uncaptioned, but Team Whooz - which loves desert scenery and unusual rock formations - thinks they speak for themselves. All pics taken using a Canon A1200, which Team Whooz thinks is one hell of an eighty-dollar camera. Clicking to enlarge each picture is highly recommended for best enjoyment, or better yet, slideshow at your own pace. Color note: Overly greenish cast in some shots due to shooting through the MayhemMobile's tinted windows; like shooting scenery from Amtrak trains.

Yeah yeah, focus challenged. A number of these shots suffer that way. But hey, YOU try focusing a little point-and-shoot from a minivan doing 70 on an undulating, under-maintained secondary byway!
Okay, this shot and the next several were not taken while moving. This northwestern New Mexico panorama was so cool that the MayhemMobile had to be hastily hauled off the road at the first available turnout so's Executive Director WhoozOn1st could hit the ground, walk around, and really soak up the scenery.
